FLOODS IN AUSTRALIA.
CESSATION OF THE RAINS.
By, Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received May 17, 9.10 p.m. Sydney, May 17,
The flood danger on the north coast is past, all districts reporting a cessation of rain. Although many families are isolated, only one fatality has so far been reported, a man being drowned while attempting to swim a horse across a flooded road in the Grafton district.
Rail and telegraphic communication is greatly interrupted, and it will be some time before it is normal. The damage to crops and stock is extensive.-—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn,
