BRITISH VESSELS NOT INVOLVED.

The marine strikers have failed to prevent nine vessels leaving port during the last 24 hours, apart from the numerous ships, which are suffering ho Convenience. The United States Shipping Board has taken drastic measures against certain firms which have agreed to the strikers’ terms by taking from them the vessels to which the board holds the title.— Aus.-N.Z. At New Orleans the marine strikers violently attacked a group of strikebreakers. Two of the latter and one policeman were wounded. The police, using clubs and revolvers, charged the attackers and arrested 138. New York, May 13. Striking maritime engineers ordered tow-boat crews not to handle any ships, foreign or American, in order to retaliate upon the Shipping Board for its action in taking the ships from companies who agreed to the strikers’ terms. — Aus.-N.Z.
