PASSENGER BOAT BEACHED.

NO LOSS OF LIFE.

By Telegraph.—Press Assn —Copyright. London, May 18. After colliding with the Patella, in a thick fog at midnight, the Benalla, which went ashore in Pevensey Bay (Sussex coast), was beached thirty minutes later. -She is now lying a mile from shore, damaged on the port side abaft the bridge; No. 4 hold is full. She is not needing help, and none of the 1100 passengers and crew is injured. Tugs are landing the passengers at Newhaven. The Patella was from Port Said, en route to Rouen. She proceeded to Calais. It is expected the Benalla will be refloated next flood tide.
