■BAWRA” WOOL DISPOSAL.

On the motion of Mr. W. Perry, a member of the Council of Agriculture, the Masterton A. and P. Association today resolved to request the Government to cable to Mr. Massey urging him to support Mr. W. M. Hughes in his efforts to persuade the Imperial Government to agree to all “Bawra” wool being held off the market for a period of about two years, in the interests of both Australian and New Zealand producers.
WATERFRONT LABOR.
Timaru, Last Night
At a meeting of the Timaru A. and P. Association on Saturday it was decided to write to all agricultural and pastoral associations in the Dominion and farmers’ unions to go into the question of labor on the waterfront, and ask the Minister of Labor to convene a conference of all harbor boards with a view to the adoption of some system of permanent labor on wharves.
ESCAPED PRISONER CAUGHT.
Auckland, Last Night. George Vincent Keyes, who escaped from Mt. Eden prison on April 9, was recaptured near Riverhead on Saturday. He was surprised in an outhouse having his midday meal, and he did not resist.
