NEGLIGENT DRIVING ALLEGED

A JURY DISAGREES.

By Telegraph.—Pre«s Association. Wellington, Last Night At the Supreme Court to-day a charge of manslaughter against Charles William Taylor was proceeded with. It was alleged the accused, by negligent driving, caused the death of a lad named John Henry Grayndler. A charge of a similar nature was laid under the excessive speed provisions of the municipal by-laws. Mr. Justice Hosking said the trial should not be disturbed. Accused said he had been driving a car for years and this was his first accident. At the time he passed the tramcar he was travelling at about fifteen miles an hour; the speed was registered on the speedometer. To His Honor: I did not know of an eight mile an hour limit. The jury failed to agree and a new trial ,vns ordered.
