INGLEWOOD.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Inglewood, May 11
The adjourned meeting of the Inglewood Operatic and Dramatic Club was held on Tuesday, when there were present Mr. R. Painter (president) and seventeen members.
It was resolved to stage Gilbert and Sullivan’s opera “lolanthe”, which the chib staged some ten years ago in the Parish Hall, but now to be presented in the Town Hall, with infinitely greater advantages. This decision is subject to the consent of Mr. Bert Royle, the New Zealand owner of the rights, and practices will be started immediately on receipt of a favorable reply from that gentleman.
question of subscriptions of members was decided by fixing the rates for ladies at ss, and gentlemen at 10s. It is hoped that lovers of music and drama, who may not be able to take an active part in the club’s performances, may become members in support of so laudable an undertaking.
