LONDON MARKETS.' By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, May 10. Share quotations.—Dalgety’s Ltd. £59 10s. At the Bawra wool sale there was the best competition so far, and the tone all round was distinctly harder and less irregular. The Continental contingent operated very freely, especially in broken and pieces, which showed the greatest appreciation. Yorkshire buyers were more active than last week. Low crossbreds were Ann, but slipes were mostly withdrawn, the reserves being too high.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn. SYDNEY WOOL SALES. Sydney, May 11. All day wool sales are fixed for Thursday, practically covering the offerings which usually occupy three days. HAMILTON MARKET REPORT. The Fanners’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., Hamilton, report as follows: , Beef. —Supplies are still coming to hand freely, but the market is somewhat easier. It is certain the decline is but temporary, and that an upward movement will shortly be witnessed. Mutton has shown little alteration since our last report. All prime sheep offering are meeting with fair competition. Store Cattle.—Although at some yards an air of briskness is observed it must be admitted that the general tendency is downward. The advantage offered to those who wish to stock up is exceedingly favorable, and ■ should be availed of, or the opportunity, as apparently lias happened in the sheep market, may slip Forward or fat bullocks should prove profitable turnip grazers. Store Sheep.—Wethers have considerably hardened of late, and many who expected lower values and refrained from buying in such expectation have been disappointed. Importations from the South have practically ceased. Optimistic predictions are being made regarding the good prospects for lamb in -the coming season, but whether reliance can be placed thereon is difficult to determine, certainly the tone of the market does not indicate a very wide acceptance, as little enquiry has been experienced so far.
Dairy Cattle.—Caused no doubt by outside enquiry principally, there has been considerable business transacted in dairy lines (chiefly heifers), but values are by no means equal to those ruling at the corresponding period last year. There is a firm upward tendency all over, arid holders of this class who have no desire to face the winter might be well advised to take advantage of the opportunity to quit. Pigs.—Pigs have been in better demand lately, and this state of things may be expected to continue. The yardlngs have been moderate.
Horses.—There is still a fair demand for good draught horses, but -as is usual at the commencement of winter values have somewhat dedined.
