SEQUEL TO “JOY-RIDE”.

CAB taken from racecourse. YOUNG MAN ARRESTED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. A young man named Clarence Lorigan was arrested in Auckland this morning on a charge of having stolen a motor jcar at Hastings last Monday. On the date stated trotting races were held at Hastings, and a motor car which had been left among others unattended outside the racecourse was driven away by some unauthorised persons. It was subsequently found capsized by the roadside in the Taradale district, and a youth was under the capsized car, not a great deal the worse for the experienee. According to his story, he had been invited by some other youths, who •were somewhat merry, to have a ride, and when the accident happened the others went off, leaving him cooped up. Lorigan is suspected of having been concerned in taking the car from the racecourse for che joy-ride.
