REPORTS. At Stony River on April 26 we report a moderate yarding and good clearance, prices . remaining on a par with late sales. Jersey weaner heifers was the only class for which there was any marked demand, and these brought full values for their quality. Store K pigs 10s, sow £3, fresh conditioned cows £1 14s, £2 Is, weaner steers 10s, 2-year-old do. £2, weaner heifers 19s, 21s, Jersey do. £2 ' 6s, £2 13s, £4 ss, small in-calf heifers £3 ss, springing heifers £»7 10s, heifer In milk £ll, dairy cows £7 ss, £l2, bulls £3, vealers £2 ss. On Wednesday, 27th ult. we conducted a 1 clearing sale at Tataraimaka on account of Mr. fl. Lett. Taking into account the very unsettled state of things generally and the i low prices ruling in all branches of the stock market, the sale was an excellent one throughout. Sundries, implements, horses, etc. maintained values easily on a par with last season’s prices. The cattle, however, were not so keenly sought after, as prices indicate, but they afforded fair competition nevertheless, and had the season been further advanced would no 1 doubt have sold better. Stock quotations are as follows: Cows £lO to £l3, light unbroken horses ranging from 3 to 5 years £l2 to £lB, aged mare £lO 10s, baconers £4 15s, small lambs 5s 3d. At Westown on the following day we conducted a clearing sale on account of Mr. H. J. Major, at which buyers attended in big numbers, and we report a bright sale throughout. The herd of 22 cows averaged £l3, the best selling from £l3 to £l7. Other quotations: Jersey weaner heifers £2 13s, Jersey bull £5, 2-year steers £2 15s, mare and foal £26, light harness horses £9 10s, hack £6 10s. At' Douglas on the same’ day we report a full yarding and a good clearance. Inquiry was steady throughout, but prices differed little from late sales. Cull lambs 2s, ordinary do. 4s 6d, ss, «well grown do. 6s 6d, 2-tooth ewes 6s Id to 10s 6d, f. and f.m. do. 4s 6d, 2-tooth wethers 6s, 9s, 9s 3d, f. and f.m. do. 3s Id, ss, weaner heifers £6 10s, £7, £7 12s 6d, store cows 15s, 20s, forward do. £2 12s 6d, £2 15s, empty heifers £2 17s, £3 12s 6d, 2%-year-oid steers '£2 6s, £3 Is, forward do. £4 15s. At' Waiwakaiho on April 29, fair entries of both sheep and cattle came forward, the whole soiling. Fat wetheVs 17s, forward do. 10s Id, forward ewes 6s 6d, 9s, weaner heifers 7s «d, 15s, 16s 6d, 18s 6d, up to 39s 6d, Jersey do. £2 Ils, £2 14s, £5, £5 10s, springing heifers £6 ss, £8 ss, £lO ss, bulls 20s to £2, store cows 30s, 345, fat do. £3 10s.
