ENCOUNTER IN TEXAS.
New York, April 28. A telegram from Houston (Texas) says reports from Tampico state that eight guards and two bandits were killed m an encounter between a party of guards and fifteen bandits, who had robbed officials of the Aghui Oil Company, a British concern, of 135,000 pesos in gold.—Aus. and N.Z. THE YAP CONTROVERSY.
Yokohama, April 29. The newspaper Asaki declares that Cabinet has decided to give the Japanese Natural Department control of the administration of Yap.
