MR VIGOR BROWN’S HOUSE SUFFERS

LOSS OF TROPHIES & SOUVENIRS.

By Telegraph.—Press Association. Napier, April 30. The summer residence of Mr. J. Vigor Brown, M.P., was partly destroyed by fire this morning. The billiard room, containing hundreds of trophies, paintings and souvenirs, which was included in the building, was destroyed. The residence is situated on the border of .the inner harbor, and is said to be one oy the finest homes of its kind in New Zealand. Lately it has been leased to His Excellency the Governor-General, whose children have resided there for several weeks. The insurances total £2738, all in the Phoenix office
