DIPLOMA IN JOURNALISM.
THE ROBERT BELL SCHOLARSHIPS.
Christchurch, April 26.
The Canterbury College Board of Governors adopted the following regulations to govern the Robert Bell scholarships:— (1) There shall be tliree scholarships each of an annual value of £5O, one of which shall be offered for award in each vear; (2) every condidate for a scholarship shall, before election, have passed the entrance scholarship examination of the University of New Zealand and have obtained at least a place in the credit list, and, other thirgs being equal, the scholarship will be awarded to the candidate wlo shall have obtained the highest aggregate marks in that examination; (3) every scholar shall proceed at Canterbury College to a diploma of journalism at .the college; (4) the tenure of each scholarship shall be for three years, terminable, however, at the end of the first or second year if the Board of Governors, having received from the Professional Board an unfavorable report on the conduct and progress of the scholar, shall so determine; (5) the total emoluments received by the scholar scholarships, exhibitions, or bursaries shall not exceed £lOO per annum.
