Christchurch, Last Night. A charge of bookmaking was heard in the Magistrate’s Court to-day against William Wheeler, who pleaded not guilty and reserved his defence. He was committed for trial at the Supreme Court, bail being allowed in £5OO on accused’s own recognisances.
