THE APPLE MARKET. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, April 25. The apple market eased considerably, retailers finding that the public will not pay sufficiently high prices to justify the extravagant first-hand prices maile laist week. NEWTON KING, LTD., REPORTS. At Urenui on the 18th Inst, we report a small yarding both of sheep and cattle. The demand was a weakening state throughout, and values a shade easier, but most of the offering sold. Lambs 4s Cd, 5s 3d, small do. 3s 3d, fresh conditioned cows £2, £2 10s, wearier steers Ils 6d, 2-year steers 30s, 375, 3%-year old do. £4, fat cows £3, 20-month heifer £2 ss, draught gelding £4O, hack and light harness do. £l4. At on the 19th inst. a full yard- , ing of cattle and a fair one of sheep was offered to a good attendance of buyers. The demand for the latter class was not so keen as at last sale, but most pens sold. Cattle sold witki a cheerful tone throughout, all classes selling readily at the hammer. Store and meaty ccrws made up a good proportion of the offering, and grazers and butchers operated freely, full values being maintained. Weaners, both steers and heifers, were also in fair supply, and buyers attended for both classes. Prices were on a par with late, sales, except for a few pens of well done heifers, whic’h showed a slight advance. Dairy cattle for winter milk made good values. Forward 2-tooth wethers 10s, fat lambs 9s 6d, ewes ss, store cows, light and aged 15s, 16s, £.l Is, better sorts £1 7s 6d, £1 15s, fresh conditioned do. £2 2s 6d, £2 Ils, fat cows £3 17s 6d to £5, weaner steers 7s 6d, Ils, 13s 6d, weaner heifers 21s to £2 4s, empty heifers £3 7s 6d, £5 ss, cows in calf £5 2s 6d, £7 15s, springing heifers £6, £8 10s, dairy cows £l3 10s to £l4 10s. At Inglewood on the 20th lust, a moderate yarding of both shaep and cattle came forward, the bulk of which sold. The sale opened with an almost spiritless demand, but improved considerably as it proceeded. Sheep were little sought after, but cattle sold readily and with a bright tone throughout, with the exception of a couple of pens the whole offering being sold. Lambs 2s 6d, 4s 6d, fat wethers 13s 3d, mixed aged do. 4s 9d, ewes 3s 9d, 7s 4d, weaner steers 15s, weaner heifers 225, 23s Gd, 335, 395, Jersey do. £4 7s, 18-month heifers £2 Is, in-calf heifers £6 ss, springing do. £5 15s, £6 10s, dairy cows £9 to £l6 10s, store cows 12s, 20s, 265, fat do. £4 2s 6d, bulls 32s up to £3 Ils.

At Rahotu on April 22 we report a full yarding, comprised chiefly of young cattle. The keen demand for weaners that has been a feature of late, at this sale a fraction, and at the start several pens of this class were passed in. A recovery was made, however, and the bulk of the offering was sold. .Icr.-ey and Jersey cross heifers, its usual, made ready sales and good values. Incalf heifers met with fair inquiry, but the cattle yarded were of moderate quality. Other classes sold at late rates. Store pigs 11s 6d, small weaner heifers 10s, 15s, better grown do. 275, Jersey and Jersey cross do. £3 6s, £3 12s, In-calf 20-month heifers £3 13s 6d, £5 Is, weaner steers 7s Gd, 14s Gd, £1 4s, 18-month do. £2 10s, store cows 31s, forward do. £2 4s, £3, fat do. £4, bulls £3, lambs 6s iBd, 7s.
