TARANAKI LEADS THE WORLD. SOME WONDERFUL RESULTS. The final returns of butterfat yield( of Jersey cows on Government test fol the year 1920 give Taranaki herds th( honor of supplying no less than threi gold medal winners, two silver med* winners, and one bronze medal winner out of five classes. Two new class lead) ers, both Taranaki-owned cow< have appeared during the yas] —viz., Mr James Nicholson’! Aster’s August Child, which, nt thd age of 1 year 337 days, put up the great total of 6891bs of fat; and Mr. JoM Hale’s Lady Superior, which yielded 68< lbs of fat at 2 years 183 days of age af the time of starting test. With Daisy (mature class), 9681bs fat, Tara naki now has three class leaders out the five into which the list is divided. It is also worthy of mention Aster’s August Child is sired bv Sultan! Daisy’s half-brother—viz., Bright Aster—; and these two cows incidentally hold thii breed record of the British Empire fe production of butterfat. In addition ti the above, Sultan’s Daisy is the chann pion dairy cow of the world for butten fat on a twiee-a-day milking.
