OUR MORTGAGES.
AN ELEVEN MONTHS’ RECORD. TOTAL VALUE, £63,279,749. The number and value of. the mortgages registered during the first eleven months of the financial year 1920-21, surely constitute a record for the Dominion. The total number registered was 53,720, and the total value £63,279,749; aa compared with 42,662, of a total value of £48,442,900, for the whole of the financial year 1919-20. The number and value of the mortgages discharged in the eleven months also exceed the number and value of those discharged in the previous twelve months. In the first eleven months of ] 920-21 the number of mortgages discharged was 37,212,. and the total value £28,009,83'2; as compared with 33,937 and £23,086,746 for the- preceding year. For the various land districts of the Dominion the mortgages registered and discharged - during the first eleven months of 1920-21 compare as follow:
