MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.

TARANAKI NOMINATIONS. hawe/a. Mr. Edwin Dixon was returned to the office of Mayor unopposed. The following nominations for the Porough Council were received: Hugh Blake Burdekin, John Charles Cameron, Peter Thomas Donnelly, William Charles Gilbert, John Gilroy Grant, Harry William Lewis, Edward Morrissey, Robert William James McNeill, John Gray Osborne, Alexander Reid, William Arthur Spragg, Harry Leopold Spratt, Frederick William Stevens, and Richard James Tiddy. The number of councillors required is nine, and 14 nominations have been received. One candidate was required for the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board and one for the Patea Harbor Board. Francis Gillanders was the only nomination for the Hospital Board, and Ernest Arthur Pacey the only nomination for the Harbor Board. These gentlemen were therefore returned unopposed. ELTHAM. For the Eltham Mayoralty the nominations are:—George Washington Tayler and Ira James Bridger. The nominations for the Eltham Borough Council number ten and are as follow:—Kenneth Burns Bain, Liddle Nairn, Walter Charles Clement, Charles Norman Taplin, Charles -Robert Kirby Cumming, John William Carter, James Laing Campbell, Gerald Henry Patterson Fitz Gerald, Albert Frank Cuff, Henry Donald Forsyth. The only nomination for the vacancy on the Hawera Hospital and Charitable Aid Board was that of George Washington Tayler, and he was therefore duly declared elected. INGLEWOOD. Mr. R. J. Sutherland has been returned unopposed for the Inglewood Mayoralty. For the six seats on the council the following fifteen candidates have been nominated:*—Messrs. W. 11. Arm-

OUTSIDE NOMINATIONS. Hokitika—Mr. George Perry has been elected Mayor unopposed. Hastings—For the Mayoralty Mr. William Hart was elected unopposed. Nineteen candidates were nominated for the council of nine. For the Harbor Board Messrs. J. A. Miller and Thomas Styles (one vacancy). For the Hospital Board Mr. N. H. Beamish was elected unopposed. Oamaru.—The retiring Mayor (Mr. J. McDiarmid) has been re-elected unopposed? Seventeen candidates have been nominated for twelve seats on the Borough Council. For the Hirrbor Board Messrs. R. Milligan, J. M. Brown, E. G. Lane, and C. J. Marshall were returned without a contest, and Messrs. Andrew, Fraser and J H. Milligan were returned to the Hospital Board without a contest.
