LARRIKINS AS “SPIRITS”.
LIGHT ON THE GUYEA MYSTERY. SPIRITUALISM REJECTED. By Telegraph— Press Assn.—CopyngEr. Received April 19, 7.40 p.m. Sydney, April 19. A special representative of the Daily Telegraph, who i® investigating the Guyra mystery, dismisses the spiritualistic idea as ridiculous rubbish. He says the house is situated in thick bush, from which it is easy to throw missiles without being detected. The houses of two other members of the same family were recently stoned, and he suggests that someone with a grudge, and possibly demented, is the author of the attacks. The correspondent supplies 1 other details to show that a very material agency is involved, though continued vigilance failed to establish its origin. Crowds of people from long distances are visiting the scene, including a number of prominent spiritualists. The chief of police is dispatching extra men to Guyra, stating that the stonethrowing is evidently due to larrikins, and it must be stamped out. —Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn.
