BOROUGH ELECTIONS.

NOMINATIONS TO-DAY. The municipal elections will be held on Wednesday next, the 27th inst., and nominations for the New Plymouth Borough Council and representatives on the Hospital Board and the Harbor Board close to-day. The indications are that all positions will be contested, with probably the exception of the Mayoralty, for which Mr. F. E. Wilson has been again nominated. The ratepayers’ “ticket” of eight and three labor nominees have been anounced as seeking election to the council, and there are also aspirants to the vacancies on the Hospital Board, in addition to the sitting members. Other issues which will be put before voters include the half-holiday question and the proposal to pay an increased rate of interest in order to raise loan moneys required for the nydro-electric works.
