CHAMPION FOR BISLEY.

THE VALUE OF RIFLE CLUBS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Rifleman Vennell, the champion rifle shot of the Dominion, who is about to leave for England to represent the Dominion at Bisley, was farewelled by a representative gathering. BrigadierGeneral Richardson said Vennell was going Home entirely on his merits. General Richardson said he was entirely in sympathy with the rifle chibs movement. He did not want the rifle clubs to be "separated from the Defence Department, but he wanted to see them with their own status and their own executive committees for the sake of good administration. He would like to see rifle clubs established all over the Dominion, and Territorials admitted as members.
