URENUI AXEMEN’S CARNIVAL. An interesting day’s sport is promised at Urenui to-morrow, when the local sports club will hold an axemen’s carnival on the Urenui sports ground An attractive programme has been drawn up, including a challenge chop between Shewry and Green for £5O a side and the West Coast championship chop. The day’s sport will be followed by a dance in the Urenui Hall in the evewing. If sufficient inducement offers A. J. Smith will run his “White” ’bus to Urenui, leaving New Plymouth at 10.30 a.m and Waitara at 11 a.m.
