DO SPIRITS THROW BRICKS?
STRANGE CASE IN AUSTRALIA. MYSTERY sAIL UNSOLVED.
By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received April 17, 5.5 p.m. Sydney, April 7. The Guyra mystery iA still unsolved, despite the constant vigilance of the police and large numbers of residents
The allegedly ghostly knockings were heard hundreds of yards away, notwithstanding the tangible evidence of hu’fbricks and large stones smashing things. During the temporary absence of the family shutters were removed and doors wrenched from their hinges. There is strong local opinion that the effects are of a spiritualistic nature.— Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn.
The small township of Guyra has been much perturbed at what is' known as the stone-throwing mystery. For some i time the house of a resident has been subject nightly to stone-throwing and mysterious rappings. Windows were smashed and furniture damaged. The vigil of the police and residents failed to find a solution. Spiritualistic means were then” employed. A little girl was taken to the room where the rappings were heard, in the presence of the police and others. The girl, referring to a sister recently dead, asked “Is that you?” and received a reply in the affirmative, also messages to her mother that the owner of the voice was happy and safe in heaven and would look after her mother for the rest of her life.
