ROBBERY OF JEWELS.
GEMS VALUED AT £2060. TAKEN FROM AN HOTEL. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. H. Baron, a dealer in precious stones, of Sydney, who has been travelling the Dominion with jewellery, had £2060 worth of diamonds, opals and pearls stolen from his bedroom in an hotel to-day. The thieves gained admission by cutting a hole in a bag, and they stole some of the jewels in a hurry and overlooked others. The police have small clue at present. They believe that Baron had been shadowed.
