FOOTBALL.
SCHOOL FOOTBALL. TARANAKI SCHEME. At a meeting of teachers, held in Stratford on Saturday, 9th inst., it was decided to adopt the following scheme for school football. (A) Schools to be graded senior and junior. (B) Senior schools to consist of: Group (1; Central (New Plymouth), West End (New Plymouth), Fitzroy, Waitara (Mr. Rountree, organiser). Group 2: Inglewood, Eltham, Hawera Main, Stratford, Patea (Mr. J. Thomas, organiser).
(C) All other schools to be classified as junior in groups as follows, each under the direction of the organiser named: —Hawera Group (junior), Mr. Henderson; Kaponga Group, Mr. Lyall; Eltham (junior), Mr. Bicheno; Opunake, Mr Mason; Eastern (Toko, Whangamomona), Mr. Bocock; Inglewood Group, Mr J. Thomas; Coast District (Oaonui, Okato), Mr. Howarth; Urenui District, Mr. McKinney; New Plymouth (junior), Mr. Rountree; Patea (junior). (D) The combining of adjacent small schools to form one team to be in the hands of the group organiser. (E) Two or three schools may combine provided that the aggregate roll number does not exceed 200.
(F). Nominations, accompanied by a fee of 2s 6d to pay working expenses, to reach the secretaries (Mr. Rountree, West End, New Plymouth, for senior groups), and Mr. Honore, Kapuni (for junior groups), not later than the 22nd inst.
The organisers of the various groups were appointed an executive committee, which will meet at Stratford on 23rd inst. to draw up fixtures and arrange further details.
