CHIEF JUSTICE’S ESCAPE.

INJURED IN MOTOR ACCIDENT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Chief Justice and Lady Stout had a narrow escape from serious injury on Saturday while motoring in the neighbourhood of Karori. Going down a hill the car got out of control and dashed at the rate of forty miles an hour. The driver displayed great presence of mind, and instead of attempting to take the corner at the bottom at the speed the car was going he turned the car into a fence. The car was badly damaged, but the occupants were very fortunate to escape with minor cuts and bruises. The Chief Justice is lame to-day as a result of injuries to his knees, and Lady Stout is slightly cut about the face.
