DISTRICT NEWS.
MANGATOKI. (From Our Own Correspondent.) Owing to he'avy rain on Thursday the Man--gatoki Athletic Club postponed their sports till Tuesday, April 12. The concert was held in the evening, the Pink Serenaders coming from Hawera and entertaining a large and appreciative audience. The items were as follows: Opening chorus, by the company; violin solo, “Cavaleria Rusticana,” Mr. Hostlck; song, “Oberon In Fairyland,” Mr. McFadzen; male quartette, “Cock Robin,” Messrs. Cate, McFaden, Hale and Jones; song, “In the whirl of a Dance,” Mrs. Cate; tag duet, “Dear Old Home,” Mrs. Hale and McFadzen; violin duet, “White "Wings,” Messrs. Cate and Hostick; rag song, “Yacka Hicka Doola," Mr. Hale; trio, “Tally Ho,” Messrs. Hale, Cate and McFadzen'; song, “Blue Dragoons,” Mr. Vai. Jones; “Beautiful Ohio,” the company; "Laughing Chorus,” The Company; rag song, “Any Little Girl,” Mr. Hale; song, “Tommy Lad,” Mr. Vai. Jones; “Weeping Willow Lane,” company ; monologue, “First Long Trousers," Mr. McFadzen; song, “Valley of Laughter,” Mrs. Cate; vocal duet, “Annie Laurie,” Mrs. Cate and Mr. Jones; rag duet, “Wild Thyme,” Messrs. Hale and McFadzen; operatic final, company. At the concluslonof the concert a dance was held. The Pink Serenaders have promised to come again on Tuesday evening, and give a different programme, so we have something to look forward to. There will also be a dance afterwards.
