CENTRAL SCHOOL.

PLANS FOR THE "AT HOME.” A very large and enthusiastic meeting of the committee and stall-holders for the Central School "At Home” on Thursday, April 21, was held In the school last night. Mr. Robertshaw occupied the chair. The secretary to the Board of Governors and the principals of the High Schools wrote expressing approval of a half-holiday, as asked for. A sub-cammittee, consisting of the Mayoress and Miss Pearce and Messrs. Smith, Day, and Stratford were appointed to allocate the various stalls. Messrs, Robertshaw, S. G. Smith, J. McLeod, and P. Stainton were Risked to arrange the programme and solicit advertisements,

Mr. Smith reported on the punch and judy show, and Mr. Day reported on the progress made with the continuous pictures and the Nubian Dwarfs.

It was agreed to ask the Borough Council to allow advertisements to be placed: on the trams.

Mr. M. Avery was authorised to procure 1000 prizes for the fish pond. The charge for afternoon tea was fixed at 9d for adults and Gd for children, and 9d for supper. For punch and judy show, continuous pictures and Nubian Dwarfs a charge of 3d for each show will be made. For the afternoon children up to 14 will be free; for the evening all children will be charged 3d. Mr. Avery reported that willing assistance had been offered from members of the Kaw.iroa Park Committee, and the offer was accepted.

The photographer will commence to-day on suitable personages for the pictures.

Messrs. Cobham, Coleman, Hay, and W. W. Smith are to be asked to help erect the stalls. Further assistance will be welcome in this respect.

The next, meeting of the committee was fixed for Tuesday, the 19th Inst., at 7.30, at the Central School.
