Hughes (Secretary of State), has suggested to Norway that claims against the United States for ships requisitioned during the war should be arbitrated upon by the permanent Hague Court. The United States Shipping Board awarded Norway some fourteen million dollars, which Norway .refused, claiming that allowance should be made for the increased prices of tonnage during tle war.—Aus.-N.Z.
