FRANCE AND POLAND’S FUTURE. By Telfegraph.—Press Assn.— Copyright. Received .April 6, 7.40 p.m. Washington, April 5. At Senator McCormick’s dinner in honor of M. Viviani, M. Lauzanne, in a speech, said France feared God and the United States Senate, and realised that the Senate at the present moment is nearer to earth and jnore active. M. Viviani told Senators, replying to questions, that if the League declined to recognise the recent treaty with Poland, France would withdraw from the League. This delighted the “bitterenders,” who think it sustains their argument that the League is unwork-able.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
