WATERFRONT LABOR.
A BETTER SYSTEM SOUGHT. PERMANENT STAFF PROPOSAL. By Telegraph.—Pteap Association. Auckland, Last Night. The problem of waterfront labor waa discussed al a meeting of the committee of the Auckland Provincial Industrial As iation, the following resolution being carried:—“That in view of the continually recurring interruption of work on the waterfront, and the great delay, inconvenience and loss occasioned thereby, this association is of opinion that the only satisfactory solutio of the difficulty will be the substitution, as far as possible, of a permanent staff in lieu of the present casual labor, and that the Government be urged tu hold an enquiry into the whole matter and adopt the be*<t system that can be evolved, and pass the necessary legislation at the next session of Parliament.”
