BOROUGH SUBSIDIES.
THIS YEAR’S GRANTS. ’ Subsidies which are grdpted annually to various local institutions were reviewed at last night s meeting of the New Plymouth Borough Council? and the -following list for the coming year was approved, the allotting of the amounts being subject to the usual, conditions whereby societies submit a copy of their annual accounts to the council:— Citizens’ Band, £5O; an additional £lO to be paid from the tramways account on the condition that two recitals are given at the breakwater. Western Park Board, £75. Carnegie Institute £9OO (including £125 for books).
Kawaroa Foreshore Society, £5O. East End Reserve Committee, £5O. North Taranaki Head Royal Life-saving Society, £l5. Ngamotu Improvement Society, £5O. Pukekura Park Board, £250. New Plymouth Technical School, £25.
