BOROUGH RATES.
LEVIES IN NEW PLYMOUTH. CALLS FOR COMING YEAR. o-f special and general rates to be collected in the borough of New Plymouth for the year ending March 31, 1922, were approved as follows at last night’s meeting of the Borough Council:— £90,000 loan, Id in the £ £lOOO loan for extensions o-f drainage, l-l2Sths of Id in the £. 25000 loan for extension of Gill Street, 5-128ths of Id in the £l. £3OOO loan for Powderham Street culvert, l-32nd of Id in the £. £11,225 loan for streets improvement and sewer extension, 11-64ths of Id in the £ (total in the £). St. Aubyn bridge, l-32nd o-f Id. All other bridge rates, l-32nd of Id. St. Aubyn, Id. Barrett Road, *2-sths of Id. Currington Road, l-4th of Id. Frankley- Road, 3-4ths of Id. Veale Road, of Id. Frankleigh Park, s / 2 of IdElliott Road, 3-20ths of Id. Moa Road, 1-25th of Id. Mangorei Road, l-l-sth of Id. The following rates are to be collected to provide sinking fund on the respective loans:— £6OOO loan, l-16th of Id. £2OOO loan, l-48th of Id. £lO,OOO loan (streets) 11-96ths of Id. £3OOO loan (10 per cent, additional streets), l-48th o-f Id. £42,000 loan (waterworks and streets), 85-176ths of Id. £22,000 loan (streets), 9-44ths of Id. £57,000 loan (streets and other purposes), 9-32nds of Id.
General rate, 2 3-Bths of Id in the £. Hospital and Charitable Aid rate, 9-16ths of Id in the £.
Water rate of three farthings in the £. on the unimproved value, one half of the above rates on stores, warehouses, and also upon lands to which water can be, but is not supplied, minium charge 10s and 5s respectively, spectively. Sanitation, uniform annual fee.; removal of nightsoil £2 2s Bd; removal of rubbish, 9s 6d.
