In declining the selection committee’s invitation to join the British Davis Cup team, F. M. B. Fisher declares he has no confidence in the committee, which badly failed in its obligations towards the game. British lawn tennis, he says, is at a low ebb. and will continue so under the present committee's regime. He describes amazing of the last two years, by which failures have been selected over the heads of men who emerged from a strenuous season with a succession of victories. He also ' refers to cliqueism run mad, while an incompetent and apathetic association sits as an acquiescent spectator.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
