ANOTHER CHRISTCHURCH CASE By Telegraph. Presc Association Christchurch, Last Night. A charge of having carried on business as a book-maker, was preferred against William Whelan before Mr. Maearthy, S.M., at the - Magistrate’s Court to-day. One witness gave evidence as to making bels by post with accused. Mr. Donnelly, the Crown Prosecutor, asked at this stage that the case be allowed to stand over till the Court of Appeal gave its decision on the Whitta case.

The request was granted and accused was bailed out in his own recognisances of £5OO.
