ANZAC DAY.

PARADE OF MAORI WAR VETERANS R*E-UNION AT WELLINGTON. The New Zealand War Veterans’ Association has’ invited as many members of the Taranaki branch as possible to attend the Wellington Anzac day parades expressing the hope ‘'that the Maori war veterans will be able to join with their comrades and veterans of' the South African War and the Great War in commemorating the objects attainedand the sacrifices made by those who took part in these national efforts.” It is proposed that a social re of Maori war veterans be held on Saturday evening, April 23, and a parade at St. Mark’s Church on the following Sunday morning. The New Zealand Association points out that in connection with the New Cathedral a fine military chapel is to be erected and one part dedicated as a shrine to the memory of the veterans of the Maori war, and it would be fitting that a good representation of the association should be made. The railway authorities will grant free parses to veterans attending the re-union. The communication was read at the re-union of the Taranaki veterans held yesterday to commemorate the battle of Waireka, and a number of members signified their intention of taking part in the Wellington re-union.
