CUSTOMS LEVY.
PORT OF NEW PLYMOUTH.’ The Customs duty collected through the port of New Plymouth during March was about £7OO less than the amount received in the same month in 1920. There was also a slight variation in the amount of beer duty collected. The figures are:— 1921. 1920. .£ s. d. £ s. d. Customs .... 5040 12 6 5743 11 7 Beer duty .. 268 15 0 279 3 1 This brings the total amount received in Customs at New Plymouth since the beginning of the year to £19,796 2s Id, and the total for beer duty for the quarter is £702 6s.
