CAUSE OF SPREAD OF DISEASE. By Telegraph--Press Association. Christ church, Last Night. At the/civic reception to representa-’ tives attending the conference of the New Zealand Federation of Master Painters, Decorators and Sign-writers’ Association, the Mayor said he was sure many diseases were spread by old wallpaper, which should be removed before new paper was placed on the walls. He hoped the decisions of the conference would be submitted to the heads of the different Government departments in order that suggestions in regard to reconstruction might be carried qut.

Mr. Lee, president of the Federation* said he hoped the Mayor would help the Federation in having regulations passed to provide for sanitary interiors.
