WRANGEL’S PLIGHT.

RELIEF TO REFUGEES STOPPED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn—Copyright. Received March 28, 8.30 p.m. Paris, March 28. In connection with the relief given to refugees of Wrangle’s army, M. Briand explains that relief must cease on April 1. It is semi-officially added that France spent 100,000,000 francs, and cannot continue relief single-handed, in view of the condition of her national finances and the uncertainty of receiving the German indemnity. Her own devastated areas and war victims -must have first claim on France, which .offered to transport Wrangel’s army to Russia or Brazil. Wrangel desires to continue fighting, and demands the return of his equipment, but this was sold to Georgia, from which it passed into Bolshevist possession.—Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn.
