THE AUCKLAND LOAN.
FOR ELECTRICITY EXTENSIONS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The Auckland loan of £500,090 float* ed in London is for electricity extensions. The tenders were cabled, returnable to London, and the city engineer (Mr. Wylliej recommended for acceptance the lowest tenders (ail of which
were British) in each group. The amount involved is £285,000 f.o.b. London.
The balance of the £500,000 will be spent in Auckland under a scheme of extensions now to be commenced. The city station will be increased to 30,000 horse-power and the tramway power house will be used as a stand-by plants
