RACECOURSE MISHAPS.
JOCKEY DIES AFTER FALL. ANOTHER RIDER INJURED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. 11. Adams, a jockey, whose mother resides at Gisborne, died in hospital tonight from haemorrhage of the brain< Deceased rode Mickey Free in the Kib dare Hurdles at Riccarton to-day. The horse fell at the second to last fence, but Adams got up and walked back to the saddling paddock. Later he exercised a horse for Cutts Bros., and subsequently he complained of feeling ill. A doctor was called in and Adame was removed to hospital, where he died at eight o’clock to-night. R. Mackie had a bone in his elbow broken when Egotism fell with him in the Autumn Plate at Riccarton to-day.
