MOTOR FATALITY.
ON PAEKAKARIKI HILL. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington’, March 26. One of (the most dangerous hills in the Wellington district, the Paekakariki hiil, was the scene of a motoring accident late yesterday afternoon, which resulted, in the death of Harry Out rad, draper, aged 32, residing at Hataitai, Wellington, and severe injuries to his wife, Lilian Owtrad, aged 32, and. his son Jack, aged ten, who was injured less severely. Outrad with his wife and son were ntotdring home from Hawera and when coming dbwn the steep grade on the Paekakariki lull, their car left the road and dashed down the bank. The car was 'overturned, t'he three occupants being thrown -out with terrific force. Aissistance was soon forthcoming, and it was obvious that Oiftrad’s condition was critical/ being quite unconscious and ‘having his head and face badly cut ai&out and his right arm broken. The sufferers were conveyed to Paekakariki railway station, where they were transferred ito the New Plymouth express. On arriving in town 'they were hurried to the hospital by the motor ambulance. An operation was performed on Outrad, 'but he never regained consciousness, and died at 12.15 this morning. Hiis wife was found to be suffering from injuries to her head and right leg. The boy Jack had a cut on the head. The latter twk> were not in a critical condition early this morning, and were doing as - well as could be expected in the circumstances.
