THE HOLIDAY.
TO-DAY’S ATTRACTIONS. The Easter holidays will end for most people to-night, and normal business will be resumed by the shops tomorrow. A number of outdoor gatherings will attract holiday-makers in Taranaki to-day.
Followers of racing are catered for by the Waimate Plains Trotting Club’s annual meeting on the Hawera course. The first race starts at 11.45 a.m. and special excursion trains will be run to and from the course. The committee of the Kawaroa Park Society have beem working energetically in preparation for the big Easter picnic which will be held to-day at the park. This' is a popular function annually. Golfers will be occupied with the Taranaki championship meeting which will be continued on the Waiwakaiho links to-day, and the finals will be played to-morrow.
Picnickers who do. not visit the seafront will have the choice of a number of other resorts, including the mountain and Ngaere Gardens - . At the latter place a special children’s day will be held
