CHAMPIONSHIP RACE. By Tejwranh —Press Association r Auckland, March 24. The first race in the contest for the New Zealand championship for 14-feet one design class boats between the Heather (Otago) and the Iron Duke (Auckland), was sailed to-day. A fresh breeze suited the Heather, which won by one minute and fourteen seconds. Lord Jellicoe, who owns the Iron Duke, was not at the helm to-day. The winner of the contest holds the Sanders Memorial Cup. / Auckland, Last Night. The second race in the yacht championship took place this afternoon, when the Iron Duke, sailed .by Lord Jellicoe, beat the Heather by sOsec.
