The match between the Australian, team and Ashburton concluded on Thursday, resulting in a win for the visitors by 10 wickets. Australia’s first innings was declared closed for 300 for 8 wickets, Liddieutt contributing 150 by magnificent cricket. A feature of Ashburton’s second innings was the stared made by Fryer, who made 84, including 13 fours. This is the best score yet put up in New Zealand against ‘the Australians.' Ashburton were all out for 150, Hornibrook’s bowling playing havoc with the batsmen. MATCH AT.TARURUTANGI. team of seventeen cricketers, captained by W. O’Donnell, journeyed to Tarurutangi yesterday and played a match with seventeen of their men. New Plymouth made 73 and 67, Toruru. tangi scoring 109 and 32 for five wickets/ thus beating the New Plymouth men by 11 wickets. The ladies of Tarurutangi provided lunch and. afternoon tea. 1
