THREAT OF COAL TROUBLE.
NO CHANGE IN THE POSITION. .THE OWNERS TO CONFER. By Telegraph.—-Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. There is no change in the position regarding the coal mining trouble. The coal-mine owners state an executive meeting will be called at the earliest possible date to consider the federation secretary’s letter, but until a conference is held no indication of the owners’ action could be given. COAL MINES STOP. DUE TO SHORTAGE OF TRUCKS. Auckland, Last Night. A shortage of coal trucks was responsible for the qlosing of the Taupiri Qoal Company’s Extended mine at at mid-day on Tuesday, and work at the Pukemiro Company’s mine ceased at 2 p.m. on the same day from a similar cause. The Rotowaru mine was idle from 1 p.m., but work was resumed today, although the Rotowaru mine was idle from 1 p.m. again.
