RACES AT BULLS. SECOND DAY’S RESULTS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Bulls, Last Night. For the second day of the Rangitikei races the weather and attendance were fair, ’ and the going was good. The totalisator for the day handled £18,233, a decrease of £11,199 on the second day last year. The total for the meeting was £40,184, a decrease of £ 18,095. Results : GREATFORD HANDICAP.—FIying Master (R. Hatch) 1, Simonides 2, Ruddy 3. Scratched : Tigrinia. Won by a neck, two’, and a half lengths between second and third. Time, Imin. 2 3-ssec. MAIDEN HANDICAP.—Hautawa (S. Walls) 1, Bonibrook 2, Lady Kotiropo 3. AH started. Won by a neck, three lengths between second and third. Tiune, Imin. 32 3-ssec. HURDLES HANDICAP.—GoId Problem (J. Bulls, Last Night. Tigrinia was withdrawn from the Greatford Handicap, leaving five runners, Sweet Memory, Simonides and Ruddy being greatly fancied. Sweet Memory was quickest away, but Flying Master ran into the lead at the end of a furlong and was never afterwards headed, winning by a neck from Simonides, who came with a good burst of speed at the finish. Ruddy, who was lying second in the early stages, was ai indifferent third, with Sweet Memory fourth. All started in the Maiden Handicap. Hautawa and Regard were the first away, but Lady Kotiropo led along the back from Rangi Poto, Regard and Bonibrook. The field closed up nearing the home bend, but Hautawa was in front at the distance. Bonibrook finished fast but just failed to reach Hautawa. Lady Kotiropo was a close third, and .Princess Marion was fourth. All started in the Hurdles, Sail Home being confidently supported, with Desire and Vigilo also in favor. Gold Problem, who ran badlj- on the first day, hopped out in front and led past the stand from Temaire and Sail Home. Gold Problem still led along the back from Sail Home, Trombone and Desire. Sail Home temporarily headed Gold Problem at the turn, but "the latter had too much pace on the fiat and won easily by a length and a half from Sail Home, Trombone being a similar distance away third. Vigilo and Wtetoki were next. The stewards held an inquiry into the winner’s reversal of form, hut exonerated the owner and trainer. Proctor explained that he was nervous on the first day, as the horse had not been properly schooled. He was cautioned. Rose Wreath, Beloved and Rangi Poto dropped out of the Fraser Memorial Handicap. Volfible and Hyttus were the best backed. From start Nobleman took up the running, and led Active and Voluble past the stand. Along the back Nobleman and Active were together, with Voluble, Simon and Railand handy. Railand ran up to tie leaders at the home bend, and staling off Nobleman, won by threequarters of a length. Simon 1 e h back_ Pu’kebou and with Velociform. showed the stand Along the back the same pair led, with Maymorn next. Maymorn and Red Bob ran through nearing the bend, the latter leaa.ng into the straight, with Country Air coming fast. Red Bob looked to be winning at the distance, but E. Pine brought Country Air along with a nice run on the rails ano won by half a length. Admiration was a fair third and Talata was fourth. The winner is trained in Hawera. s Scratchings reduced the field for the Pukemarama Welter to a quartette. Tirana and Beloved were the best supported. At the home bend Haversack came strongly, and won comfortably by a length and a half from Beloved, who was a length in front of Tirana. Omabu was a bad last. Eleven went to the post for the Farewell Handicap. A big betting race saw Gaiety Girl and Automoana solidly supported. Erin’s Isle delayed tte start. Automoana anticipated the starter and gave nothing else a chance, winning easily from Gallia, with Lady Polly and Flying Masfllr next.
