THE PEOPLE’S. LAST NIGHT OF “BUCK JONES.” As a whirlwind horseman and a man who rides into a tense scene at the proper time, Buck Jolies, the popular Eox, star, is one of the most thrilling figures on the screen. He does some lively work in ‘‘Sunset Sprague,” which ( was shown for the first time yesterday | at the People’s Theatre —work which more than once caused, the spectators to z gasp in astonishment. The story of •‘Sunset Sprague” had some work cut out for Jones. Eileen Percy is delight fill in “Husband Hunters,” her latest comedy drama, and the bill includes latest gazettes. EVERYBODY’S. LEAH BAIRD IN “CYNTHIA OF THE MINUTE.” One of the best stories by a popular author. Louis Joseph Vance, provides the plot of “Cynthia of the Minute,” a story of piracy on the high seas, with Leah Baird as the heroine. Realism in the scenes was obtained by chartering a captured German liner, and taking the company to sea for the filming of the principal incidents. There is a romance between the heroine and a young purser, a wireless conspiracy that has to do with defrauding the insurance companies, a mutiny that is the last word in realism, and a thrilling escape by swimming ashore for assistance by Leah Baird. Through it all runs that touch of humor that Mr. Vance instils into his stories to relieve the dramatic intensity. “Cynthia” screens at Everybody’s to-night and to-morrow. BARTON’S CIRCUS. Barton's circus promises something entirely different from the ordinary circus programme. Mrs. Barton has engaged the famous Toronoski troupe of Japanese, also little Mona, and a number of new novelties. Alix Wyllie, American cowboy, presents a turn with the aid of Broncho Jim, and his work with the lariat is remarkable for accuracy and skill, while the act of E’d. King serves to introduce new and original ’business. Thos. Kadama, in his Risley act and later in “The Drunk on the Wire” shows both skill and versatility. It is an act of outstanding merit/ Marvon, the Fremar Bros., and the Tramp troupe are among a strong programme of supports. Silver King will be seen in a number of new tricks and “Tornado,” the unconquered queen of buckjumpers, will, with other outlaws, be at the disposal of local roughriders.
