UNREST IN SOME STATES. *—" 1 ' T THE IMMIGRATION BILL. By Tel®sraph.“Preas Asan.—-Copyright. Received March 23, 1.30 a.m. Delhi, March 22. It is officially stated that ten shrines were recently attacked in the Lahore district. Considerable apprehension was caused in various parts of the Punjab by bands of men, often in military formation and armed with axies and lymilar weapons. The Government has ordered their disarmament and the prosecution of the leaders under the Arms Act. In the Legislative Assembly, Sir Geo. Barnes, speaking on the introduction of the Emigration Bill, said it would be proceeded with in the autumn. It was necessary to legislate against any resurrection of indenture. The Emigration Bill would forbid the emigration of unskilled labor unless both Houses ordered its re-opening. He thought where Indians would enjoy the full privileges of British subjeots, emigration should be encouraged. He deprecated reciprocity legislation as futile, with a flavor of retaliation.— Reuter Service.
