SUPREME COURT.

MASTBRTON SESSIONS By Telegraph.—Press Association. Masterton, March 19. The Supreme Court opened yesterday afternoon. Addressing the grand jury, I Mr. Justice Salmond congratulated the district upon the absence of serious crime. There were only two cases of a criminal character, one of false pretences and the other of using obscene language in a public place, the. bar of a hotel. True bills were returned in the case of John Richards, obscene language, and Stanley Wallace Green, i|i suing valueless cheques. The common jury returned a verdict of guilty in the case of Richards, who was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment. Green was also found guilty and admitted to probation for two years.
