OUTLOOK FOR PRODUCE.

THE GROWERS TO CONFER. AN IMPORTANT MEETING. A conference of representatives of producers of wool, meat and other produce is to be held in Wellington at the end of this month. Information to this effect was received yesterday by the provincial secretary of the Fanners* Union, Mr. W. Huey, from Sir James Wilson, who telegraphed as follows: "In view of the present position regarding the markets for wool, meat and other produce, and particularly the bearing upon this of realisations of accumulated wool stocks and freight rates for meat, the authorities, after consideration with the Producers’ Committee and the Board of Agriculture, consider it desirable that a representative meeting of producers be called at early date. The board is therefore convening a meeting of representatives of producing interests to diecuss the best course to be adopted to meet the position, and invites your union to arrange to send one delegate to the meeting, which will be held in Wellington on Thursday, March 91. This delegate is to act as representative of all farmers* unions in your district. Agricultural and Pastoral Associations are also invited to send 12 delegates, and also the Sheepowners’ Federation 12 for the Dominion.”
